Old Town Music Hall Interior Study

This painting is an interior study of the Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo, California. I wanted to do an interior of a theater for my study because I tend to dream about empty movie theaters. I wanted my piece to appear dream-like with the shadowlike figures in the seats, and to also capture the intensity of the chandeliers as the focal point. The Old Town Music Hall is a historical landmark since it holds an antique Wurlitzer organ, that is played during silent films to provide sound to them. I thought it was an interesting study because of the angle and the monochromatic palette.
